THE BODY-BASED PHILOSOPHY

Steve Jobs was famous for preferring meetings on foot. Albert Einstein walked 1.5 miles every day to contemplate his theories. Navy SEALS use a box breathing technique to focus the mind in high-stress situations. Cristiano Ronaldo relies on deep belly breathing to calm himself down before a penalty.

What do these have in common?

  1. Extremely high performers in their respective fields
  2. Use the body to control how they think and feel

Yet despite these stories and overwhelming scientific evidence (just a couple of examples below) to back them up, our bodies are rarely considered in the productivity and mental well-being conversation.

šŸš¶ā€ā™€ļøā€āž”ļø Stanford research finds that walking increases our creative output by 60% versus sitting down.

And while businesses are committed like never before to invest in workplace wellbeing, employees are as frazzled and overwhelmed as ever. In 2023, global employee engagement stagnated and overall employee wellbeing declined. The result is that the majority of the worldā€™s workforce continue to struggle at work and in life, with direct consequences for organizational productivity. So clearly, something is still missing.

Exploring ways to improve focus and enjoyment in my own work, I started asking myself some bigger questions:

Enter the world of Body-Based Productivity. A radically different approach to work that puts the body central in everything we do, resulting in more creativity, focus and aliveness.
